Father’s Day Car Show at
Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens
A Family Tradition
The Stan Hywet Father’s Day Car Show is a northeast Ohio institution dating back to 1957. Generations of car enthusiasts have made this event part of their family tradition, bringing fans of all ages to the spectacular grounds of Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens. Won’t you join us?
The Vehicles
Featuring hundreds of antique, collector, and special-interest vehicles, the Stan Hywet Father’s Day Car Show is unlike any other, focusing on cars that are unmodified and largely as they were when they left the factories of their time. and all of them are 25 years old or older.
Classes include brass cars of the teens, unrestored survivors, cars from the roaring twenties, the nifty fifties, special features that highlight one significant marque or event, plus all the other cars and trucks that fill your memories of the past. And winning an award at the Stan Hywet Father’s Day Car Show is still considered one of the highest honors a car can receive.
Vehicle Owners
For participants with show cars, pre-registration is required and the show field is limited to 450 vehicles, so it’s important to get your registration in as early as possible because this show always sells out.
Registration for the Annual Father’s Day Show at Stan Hywet opens January 1 and closes when the show sells out or June 1, whichever comes first. Every year, people inevitably contact us after registration has closed and ask if we can make an exception and just let one more car into the show. Please don’t let that happen to you, because late admissions aren’t possible. Use the form below to sign up for email updates about the show, which includes reminders about registration, important communications about your registration, and general updates regarding the Father’s Day Show at Stan Hywet. Don’t take any chances, register early and ensure your space on the show field!

Stan Hywet is not a person! So what is Stan Hywet? Here is an excerpt from the Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens web site:
In 1910, F.A. Seiberling, co-founder of The Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, began to purchase land in Portage Township, a farming area on the west side of the Akron city limits. Seiberling and his wife, Gertrude, wanted to build a home large enough for their growing brood and their extended family. They also wanted the house to function as a center for entertainment and events for the greater Akron community. They named it Stan Hywet, Old English for stone quarry — after the property’s most prominent natural feature. Seiberling hired architect Charles Schneider, landscape designer Warren Manning, and interior decorator Hugo Huber to create Stan Hywet. Construction began in 1912 and the Seiberling family moved to their new house in December, 1915. The Seiberlings enjoyed Stan Hywet Hall for the next 40 years —opening their doors countless times to the community, as well as marking family milestones throughout the estate.
